bemix is a social enterprise with charitable status (CIO), based in Kent with locations in Canterbury, Dover, Ramsgate, Sittingbourne and Chatham. We work with and for adults and young people (16-24 year olds) who have learning disabilities and or autism. (Please note individuals must be aged 18+ to be referred via ReferKent) We provide group and individual support for adults in Kent and are a Specialist Post 16 education provider (DfE funded and Ofsted regulated) and run two programs supporting 80 young adults per year. bemix are the Kent and Medway ICB's preferred training provider of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Learning Disability and Autism for Health and Social care workers across the County. Our projects and support aim to provide a stepping stone towards greater independence for people with learning difficulties and/or autism. Working with individuals to develop a person-centred support plan either one-on-one or in one of our group locations around Kent. Our Supported Employment programme is a one or two-year programme to support young people's transition from education into sustained paid employment. We have cohorts in Canterbury for the South East, Sittingbourne for Swale and Chatham for Medway and Gravesham young people. www.bemix.org

CAREERS INFORMATION ADVICE AND GUIDANCE provides free, professional careers information, advice and guidance to help individuals make decisions about learning, training and work at any stage of their career or learning journey. The service is available to anyone aged 13 or over (to refer through ReferKent the individual must be aged 18 or over.) MAKING IT COUNT! NUMERACY PROGRAMME is a three-day, free numeracy course for individuals without Level 2 maths, designed to build confidence and basic mathematical skills, supporting employment opportunities and further education. CANTERBURY PATHWAYS (TO SKILLS) running until March 2025, helps Canterbury residents develop skills to re-enter the workforce. It offers one-to-one sessions and group workshops for unemployed or economically inactive individuals, career changers, and those returning to work, focusing on job market understanding and skill acquisition.

We support people to reach their full potential by delivering free English lessons daily. The inability to access training, employment and voluntary opportunities due to a lack of English skills leaves migrants unable to integrate easily or contribute to their local communities, further hindered by the pandemic. Over the last few years, we have delivered various projects addressing crime prevention, youth diversion activities, advice and support at drop-in-centre in Gravesend and Northfleet. We currently deliver sports projects to address inactivity and different cultural events to celebrate and share traditions that have become celebrated and appreciated by the local community (e.g., St Nicholas Day, Porraimos -Romani Holocaust Exhibition and International Roma Day).

Our focus is on sport, physical activity, and health sessions and these are held at both our Aylesford Bulls site in Aylesford near Maidstone (ME20 7DS) as well as The Appleyard Sports Club based in Sittingbourne (ME1 1QN). We have a timetable that encompasses some structured activities to aid development of learning the skills associated with the different activities as well as free time to allow children to explore their imagination and play.
