Dover Big Local CIC supports the whole community with an emphasis on vulnerable families, either by providing services or partnering with other agencies and providers. The focus is on health and wellbeing. Directly provided services currently are: • Parent and toddlers sessions • Digital IT Support sessions • Cooking Sessions • Dungeons and Dragons • Dover Den - A Safe Place for Men sessions. Partnered sessions include: • One Stop Shops, primarily for women affected by Domestic Abuse • Take Off Mental Health Support • Include Us Too • NHS Wellbeing sessions • Bereavement Groups • Modelling Club Groups. Our new family support service offers free advice on debts, family finances and budgeting, emotional support for parents and positive parenting sessions, championing reducing parental conflict, education and housing advice, alcohol and substance misuse. This often involves signposting, referring to other agencies or working together with other agencies.

Beyond The Page (BTP) is a company limited by guarantee, with a non-profit constitution. It serves women in Thanet, east Kent in face-to-face programmes across Margate & Ramsgate. BTP is completely independent and relies on fund-raising from grant holders. Since 2015, BTP has offered safe, creative and fun women-only spaces for English language-learning and inter-cultural friendship. We focus on meeting the integration challenges facing women born outside the UK, aiming to increase their confident participation as active citizens and parents. They include those who are living in, or rehoused from refuges; destitute during immigration disputes; refugees and asylum seekers; mentally frail, socially isolated, with minimal family support; illiterate or with a learning difficulty. These women often cannot access mainstream ESOL or find it does not meet their complex needs. Our core programme, United Mothers, is open to all Thanet women (including British women who want to join a multicultural group). We focus on providing a long-term, practical response to an underlying and often invisible need. Volunteers are mainly of retirement age, who say this project has benefitted their mental health.

Rowan Tree Dramatherapy offers therapeutic support to young people, families and adults to support those with emotional, communication and mental health difficulties, and with additional needs. We support vulnerable adults with a range of needs, and facilitate support sessions for carers who look after young people in care. Clients and participants of all ages are given a safe, professional, and consistent space within which to explore themes and issues that have been causing them difficulty and concern and impacting their ability to manage in the community. Rowan Tree continues to provide therapy support to disadvantaged communities such as care experienced people. We are currently receiving referrals for a free 15 session group in Canterbury for Care Experienced 18-25 year olds starting in Autumn 2025 - The group will be held weekly during term time in a room on the University of Kent campus, Canterbury. - The group is facilitated by two therapists, with the capacity for 8 members in each group. *The programme offers the opportunity for a cohesive, healthy group experience with other young people who have a shared experience of the care system. *Our aims are to support a sense of belonging, reduce feelings of isolation and develop a positive sense of self. Each group supports the mental health of this community at a transitional time in their lives where we often see a breakdown in emotional well being with increasing awareness of changes in support for 18+. bemix is a social enterprise with charitable status (CIO), based in Kent with locations in Canterbury, Dover, Ramsgate, Sittingbourne and Chatham. We work with and for adults and young people (16-24 year olds) who have learning disabilities and or autism. (Please note individuals must be aged 18+ to be referred via ReferKent) We provide group and individual support for adults in Kent, with Groups and Social Enterprises in Dover, Canterbury, Ramsgate and Sittingbournes. We are also a Specialist Post 16 Education provider (DfE funded and Ofsted regulated) and run two programs supporting 80 young adults per year. Our Supported Employment programme is a one or two-year programme supporting young people's transition from education into sustained paid employment. We have cohorts in Canterbury for the South East, Sittingbourne for Swale and Chatham, for Medway and Gravesham young people. From September 2025 we will begin a new cohort in Bexley. bemix is the Kent and Medway ICB's preferred training provider of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Learning Disability and Autism for Health and Social care workers across the County. Our projects and support aim to provide a stepping stone towards greater independence for people with learning difficulties and/or autism. REP’s mission is to enable refugees to integrate within their local communities; secure high quality and sustainable employment; gain ESOL foundations and access local support. Through REP, refugees receive tailored support from a dedicated Case Manager to address barriers to employment, get ready for the UK job market, develop confidence and job-seeking skills and ultimately find sustainable employment, during which we continue to help for up to three months. Thanks to a co-developed personal development plan and regular 1-1 meetings, refugees are supported to apply for work, prepare for interviews and access ESOL, training or vocational courses to succeed in life. Our focus is on sport, physical activity, and health sessions and these are held at both our Aylesford Bulls site in Aylesford near Maidstone (ME20 7DS) as well as The Appleyard Sports Club based in Sittingbourne (ME1 1QN). We have a timetable that encompasses some structured activities to aid development of learning the skills associated with the different activities as well as free time to allow children to explore their imagination and play.
